Now that his family is gone, he faces the harsh winter as it gets colder and colder and begins to snow. Though he contacts his friends, Billy and Brownie Beaver, Joey Otter, and Mr. Muskrat, and seeks help from Bradford Badger, none of them can help him. He wishes he could have left with his family, and he is determined to be strong and find someplace to stay to get through the winter. John Pluff has long been inspired by children's books. When growing up, his mother read to him and his five siblings, and his teachers read everything from Robin Hood to books by contemporary authors. John began writing, after he started reading and telling stories at bedtime to his children, and then improvised with a story of his own. Googala Duck was one that he wrote and remembered from those years, and he turned it into a series of picture books.John also writes film scripts and is working on additional children's books.
