Description
"One day while I was going through my safe, I came upon my grandmother's gold bracelet, which I haven't been able to wear in years, as the safety clasp broke and needed repaired. She gifted it to me nearly 50 years ago, a few weeks before my sister's wedding. Unfortunately, I don't recall her telling me how she received this gift. I fantasized that her then to be husband, must have decided to buy it as a token of his love. It can been seen on her arm in their wedding picture and many other pictures of her at special events during her life. The bracelet and the photo of my grandparents are real, but many of the things I have written about are of my own imagination, touching on some of my experiences or stories told by people that were and are part of my own life. There may be some similarities in dates, names and places, however, none are real people living or dead. History confirms the many stories of those people who had to cross oceans, land and deserts all the while facing prejudge, poverty, and persecution combined with heartaches and hardships, before arriving at their final destination. Those brave men and women including my own ancestors, who with sheer faith, took a voyage to the unknown, with the intention of making a better life for their families and self. My imagination and curious nature inspired me to write this short story, about those people.Being of a proud Italian Heritage and close knit family, I wanted to share with my family and friends my thoughts. My hope is that you enjoy what I have written on these pages and you want to share it with your family and friends."--Amazon.com.
