Cuando miramos un árbol, ¿alguna vez nos imaginamos que fue una semilla? Resulta sorprendente saber que ese bello e intrincado despliegue de ramas y hojas tenga su origen en algo tan pequeño. ¡A viajar, semillas! abre un huequito en la tierra y con él, una oportunidad de espiar algo de ese misterio. Las semillas no se quedan quietas: vuelan, nadan, flotan. Esperan, se esconden, caen. Viajan. Esa vida dentro de ellas quiere nacer. Y en su interacción con todo lo bueno de este mundo -el sol, el aire, el agua, los animales, los insectos- buscan el camino para sembrarse; para encontrar un hogar donde brotar, hacerse fuertes y crecer. Con las ilustraciones, Lorena Ruiz hace un homenaje a la geometría vegetal: hay semillas, hojas, flores e insectos que forman tramas de hermosos colores y texturas. Cada escena del libro nos cuenta una pequeña ±biografía¬: de las semillas del roble, del serbal, del arce, de la magnolia, entre otras, revelando así lo brillante y compleja que es la naturaleza. Al final del libro, la autora ofrece un apéndice de información científica sobre los viajes de las semillas, cómo germinar un árbol y la importancia de éstos para la vida en nuestro planeta.

When we look at a tree, do we ever imagine that it was a seed? It is surprising to know that this beautiful and intricate display of branches and leaves has its origin in something so small. ¡A viajar, semillas! It opens a little hole in the ground and with it, an opportunity to spy on something of that mystery. The seeds do not stay still: they fly, swim, float. They wait, they hide, they fall. They travel. That life within them wants to be born. And in their interaction with everything good in this world -- the sun, the air, the water, the animals, the insects -- they seek the way to sow themselves; to find a home to sprout, become strong and grow. With the illustrations, Lorena Ruiz pays homage to plant geometry: there are seeds, leaves, flowers and insects that form plots of beautiful colors and textures. Each scene in the book tells us a little "biography": of the seeds of the oak, the rowan, the maple, the magnolia, among others, thus revealing how brilliant and complex nature is. At the end of the book, the author offers an appendix of scientific information on the journeys of seeds, how to germinate a tree and the importance of these for life on our planet.
