Description
Two films unveil hidden agendas and buried stories behind the catastrophe of 9/11/01, an event that continues to drive a radicalized U.S. foreign policy and to rationalize the curtailment of civil rights and social programs at home. 9/11 : press for truth tells the story of the "Jersey Girls," four widows whose relentless search for answers eventually brought about an independent investigation into the tragedy, the 9/11 Commission. The film is partly based on the book, The terror timeline by Paul Thompson, which raises disturbing and still unanswered questions about the events leading up to 9/11. Hijacking catastrophe makes a case that the 9/11 catasrophe was skillfully "hijacked" to carry out a pre-existing vision of American global empire, a radical right-wing agenda that has transformed our foreign policy, curbed civil liberties, and cut domestic programs.
